How to Accept Stripe Payments in Lebanon (Legally) in 2026

By the FlowPay Team·September 1, 2026· 6 min read

Why Stripe doesn't work directly in Lebanon

Stripe only lets businesses registered in supported countries open accounts, and Lebanon is not on that list. If you sign up with Lebanese details, your account will either be rejected at verification or frozen later — usually right when your first real payout is due.

This isn't a dead end. Stripe's restriction is about where your company is registered, not where you live. The legal solution is to give your business a home in a supported country.

The legal workaround: register a US LLC or UK Ltd

The standard, Stripe-compliant approach is to register a real company in a supported country — most commonly a US LLC (Wyoming or Delaware) or a UK Ltd. This company becomes the legal owner of your store, and Stripe verifies the business under that entity.

Everything is done remotely: you never need to travel, and you don't need a US citizen partner. At FlowPay, this registration is handled end-to-end as part of our Payment Infrastructure setup.

The exact setup, step by step

A complete, verified payment stack for a Lebanese founder looks like this:

  • Register a US LLC or UK Ltd in your name (1–2 weeks, fully remote)
  • Get your EIN (US tax number) — required by Stripe and US banks
  • Open international business banking with Wise or Payoneer under the new company
  • Open and verify Stripe and PayPal business accounts under the entity
  • Connect Stripe to your Shopify store and activate Apple Pay / Google Pay
  • Set up payouts from Wise/Payoneer to your Lebanese bank account

Cost and timeline

Done properly, the full setup takes 2–4 weeks. FlowPay's Payment Infrastructure package covers company registration, banking and verified Stripe/PayPal accounts for a flat $699 one-time — no retainers, no revenue share.

Mistakes that get accounts frozen

The shortcuts — borrowed identities, fake US addresses, a friend's company — are exactly what Stripe's verification systems are built to catch. When they catch it, the account and its balance are frozen, often permanently. A real entity with real documents is the only setup that survives reviews.

Only selling inside Lebanon? You may not need Stripe yet

If your customers are all in Lebanon, start with the methods they already trust: Whish Money, OMT and Cash on Delivery. FlowPay sets these up with local settlement, and you can add Stripe and PayPal later when you expand internationally.
